Next Legal & Conveyancing Wellness Program
The goal of this initiative is to ensure staff satisfaction, to retain her valued current team members, and to attract and recruit the best possible new team members. Increased productivity and efficiency were additional goals.
With COVID-19 at the forefront of her mind and business, Alicia realised the significant impact this crisis had on herself and her team members, both physically and mentally. Alicia set about making a difference to her team by initiating the Wellness & Incentive Program with the ultimate aim of leading the legal sector and employers in general within the wellbeing space.
At Next Legal & Conveyancing, the health and wellbeing of team members is number one priority as it’s these team members who look after clients and are key to the ongoing growth of the firm.
What we offer
Next Legal and Conveyancing team members have said they feel like they are part of a big family, not just work colleagues. Alicia wants to ensure every team member feels safe, secure, valued and appreciated and ensures she is always approachable and available whenever team members need to discuss a work or personal issue – or just need a sympathetic ear.
Alicia’s wellbeing initiative was recognised in the Lawyer’s Weekly Australian Law Awards, where Next Legal and Conveyancing were the only regional firm finalist in this category – a huge achievement for our relatively small local firm. Alicia was also awarded the NSW Law Society Wellbeing Champion of the Year in 2022. This award recognises excellence on the part of an individual, legal team or law firm with regard to wellbeing. The award celebrates either innovation in, or the championing of, wellbeing initiatives, that improve wellbeing in the legal profession.
Alicia continues to investigate new ideas to continue to grow and develop Next’s Staff Wellness & Incentive Program. She believes that investing in this program is not only good for the business, but also ultimately the right thing to do for our team and the legal industry.
